This program is the hub of the PrintChef printing system. It is compatible with Windows 95/98, Me, NT4, and 2000, and works with every application and every printer.
PrintChef is itself a printer driver, that captures the pages from any application, and then executes rules (called Print Recipes) to change the page order, orientation, size, and layout, and to add graphics, images, and other effects to these pages to create the final printed paper.
This simple design allows PrintChef to solve any printing problem for any application, for any printer...
As an example of PrintChef power, consider the application to solve the HP Print-to-Mail solution, where a PrintChef plug-in is used to extract addresses from the pages printed by accounting and invoice programs. The extracted text, is then repositioned to create a print-to-mail mailer, and even to add electronic postage.
The PrintChef system comes with basic powers to create standard booklets, miniatures, reversed prints, range prints, flipped prints, and to control toner level. Additionally, it can create prints that use the power of a "print recipe".
A print recipe is a collection of rules, layers, and references to plug-ins that allow for the control of any print. Recipes can create tailored booklets, miniatures, impositions, letterheads, invoices, business cards, and about anything that your mind can imagine. In fact, when print recipes are combined with PrintChef's open architecture plug-in technology, there is no limit to what a recipe can do.
